What’s This?

People have been begging Facebook for a dislike button. Looks like it has finally arrived as “Reactions”. This feature was long ago released in places outside the United States.

Facebook Reactions is a set of emojis that you and your audience can use to give insights into how they feel on a Facebook post.

The available “Reaction” emojis are  “like”, “love”, “haha”, “wow”, “sad” and “angry” buttons. There was also a “yay”, but it caused confusion in test markets, so it was removed from the official US launch.

How Facebook Reactions Work

On your machine
– hover over “Like”
– emoji “Reactions” will pop up
– choose the emoji that fits best how you feel

On your mobile
– press and hold on “Like”
– emoji “Reactions” will pop up
– choose the emoji that fits best how you feel

Once you have added your “reaction” Facebook will display it on the regular area for likes among everyone else’s reaction.

How Do Facebook Reactions Affect Marketers?

These are a great way to measure how your audience feels about your brand. Sentiment is a HUGE factor in Social Media posts and this will be an invaluable resource.

You will be able to see reactions and their counts on your Facebook Insights tool.

We’d love to know what you think about Facebook Reactions, so let us know in the comments.
