What’s This?

Facebook announced yesterday that they are restricting API access to all 3rd party apps and partners like Socialdraft in order to protect their user’s information. While they may inconvenience all of us at the start, these changes will be beneficial to us all. Here is how those changes will affect Socialdraft’s Facebook and Instagram features:

April 2018 Instagram & Facebook API Changes

These changes announced in early April will affect Socialdraft as such:

Facebook Groups:

Facebook Group features are currently not available on Socialdraft. This includes the timeline, scheduled, activity. Publishing to groups is unavailable at this time.

Facebook Pages:

Scheduling is still available for Facebook pages. @mentions of Facebook Pages or Facebook users in posts is no longer supported. Tagging Facebook branded content is no longer supported.

Instagram:

Some of the API changes have restricted our ability to:

  • @mention Instagram users
  • Instagram comments
  • Follow/Unfollow users
  • Like posts
  • Check followers/unfollowers

***You can still search hashtags and schedule posts and reposts through Socialdraft.

We are committed to giving our users the best experience in managing social media. As Facebook partners, we will work closely with them once the API access has been retooled to offer as many functions as are made available.
