Today we are thrilled to announce a very exciting update to Socialdraft: You Can Now Schedule Posts to Instagram Using Socialdraft

Pretty much everyone was asking for this feature, so we’ve worked with Instagram’s API to come up with a way that you can schedule reminders when you need to post to Instagram.

How to schedule posts to Instagram using Socialdraft (iOS & Android)

Connect Your Instagram Account & Mobile

1.Connect your Instagram account by clicking the blue band on the top of the home page.

2. Add a mobile number: Settings >> Social Settings >> Social Connect

Create Your Post

1.Create a post: enter caption >> enter link (if desired) >> enter image >>

2. Click the Instagram icon & select your Instagram account

3. Choose either “Schedule Post” to schedule for later OR “Share Now” to publish immediately

4. Check your smartphone for an SMS

5. Click the link to open the Instagram template

How to schedule posts to Instagram using Socialdraft (iOS)

1. Softly tap the image

2. Save the image to your camera roll

3. Click “Select Message”

4. Copy Message

5. Click “Proceed to Instagram”

6. Instagram will open up the image

7. Click “Next”

8. Edit the image if desired

9. Click “Next”

10. Paste your Caption

11. Add location if desired

12. Click “ok”

13. Click “Share”

How to schedule posts to Instagram using Socialdraft (ANDROID)

1. You will be redirected to your post details

2. Tap the “Proceed to Instagram” button, this will automatically copy your caption to the clipboard, save the image to your mobile, and open Instagram app

3. In the Instagram app, select the image, paste the caption and follow the regular Instagram posting instructions

NOTE ***There are a few Android devices that will not pull in the images correctly. If your Android device happens to do this, then follow these steps:

1. When SMS is sent, click the link on the message

2. ‘Tap ‘Download Content’ button
(this will auto copy caption and download the image)

3. Open the downloaded image

4. Tap the ‘share icon’

5. Select Instagram

6. Paste the caption and post

Even with the drop on Instagram reach, we still recommend marketing your brand or business on the platform. Why? Instagram Beginners Guide

We’ve mentioned this before but it bears repeating — Instagram is still one of the fastest growing social media platforms, with 15 times more user engagement than Facebook, and 40 times more engagement than Twitter.

1. Double tap a photo to like it.

2. Create an Instagram Business profile. You’ll hear that this decreases your engagement, but you can’t be fully in the game unless you keep score. When you create a business account, you’ll be able to:

  • Get insights on performance for stories and promoted posts
  • Get information on your followers and how they engage you
  • Add more information about your brand or business (example – hours, location, contact info)
  • Run ads and get reporting on your ads
  • Include call-to-action buttons

3. Choose an aesthetic look. This will help you keep consistent branding and increase brand recognition.

4. Make sure your images are always easy to read (clear, simple and to the point)




5. Click the raindrop to use tilt-shift focus on the photograph. What does this do you ask? This allows you to select part of your image to be in focus, while the rest is slightly blurry. This gives an edgy and unique to particular pics.

6. Use your phone’s camera to take all of your photos and then upload them to Instagram. This provides agents more control over design.

7. Use hashtags in your image captions. This groups the photo with other photos of similar themes and makes it easier for your audience to find you.

8. Once your picture is published, click the three dots under it to delete it, share it, copy the photo’s URL, or to email it to someone.

9. Respond to any comments under your photo by holding down the user’s name. You can mention the user or be taken to their profile. By doing this they will get a notification that you have responded.

10. Keep your comments area spam free. Leaving those crummy “nice pic” comments makes it look like you don’t care about your business. Besides, as you can see in the above video, it is super easy to remove spam and block spam commenters.

11. You can delete comments that you’ve left on another individual’s photos by clicking the top right-hand corner, and then clicking the red circle next to your name. Remember to take your time and use discretion to avoid needing to do this often.

12. Want to put a filter on your photos and save them to your photos? But you also do not want to publish them on to your Instagram feed? Use this trick: Put your phone in “airplane mode” and load your photos as you would normally. Your photos will be saved to the camera roll.

Big fan of Lomotif. It lets you choose a video from your phone and add snippets of music to it. You can then share it on Instagram. It’s free, but to remove their watermark, you pay a small sum – totally worth it.

WordSwag

This one is my fave. You don’t need Photoshop if you have this handy app. There are tons of images you can choose from and you can add write-ups to them. It’s super easy to use too. Totally worth the $3.99.

Yup. You read that title right. You can now schedule to multiple Instagram accounts with Socialdraft.

How to Use Socialdraft to Schedule Posts to Multiple Instagram Accounts

It’s quite simple.

  1. Connect your Instagram accounts
  2. Assign the mobile number you want the posts to go to

Then schedule your post

You can do this from multiple places:

  1. Your home page dashboard
  2. The drag & drop calendar
  3. The Photos section on Socialdraft
  4. A csv upload
  5. From any page on the web using the Socialdraft Bookmarklet

We’ll cover scheduling from the drag & drop calendar:

  1. Open up the Drag & Drop calendar.
  2. Click on the date you want the post to schedule to.
  3. Enter your write up & add a link (if you so desire).
  4. Upload your image (this is the most important thing – the system will NOT work unless you upload an image.
  5. Click the Instagram Icon (you can choose other networks as well if you want the same content to publish there).
  6. Select one or multiple Instagram accounts for this post to be scheduled to.
  7. Choose the time you want this post to be sent to your smart phone
  8. Click “insert post?

Once the time for your scheduled posts comes around, you (or your assigned team member) will receive an SMS with the image and write up for the post. The video below shows the publishing process:
