TEAM COLLABORATION

This one is great for anyone who works with a team (or with a client that likes to micromanage). With collaboration, you can set up people in your team (and clients) so that they have access only to certain social accounts, and only to certain areas within those accounts. It’s super easy to set someone up and to remove them when needed. What kind of users can you set up?

  • Admin: This is the person who owns the account (most likely you). This person has control over the entire dashboard and back-end items such as billing.
  • Manager: This person can be given almost all access to the site, except for back-end items such as billing.
  • Sub-User: A sub-user can be allowed to schedule and post content to a page. They can also be given access to Instagram tools, the Socialdraft Queue, the Engagement Inbox.
  • Managed Sub-Users: These are almost the same as sub-users. The difference is that while they can schedule content, the content won’t publish unless it is approved by an admin.
  • Guests: These are the users with the least power. Most of our users use this setting to give access to clients. Guests can access only the social networks you choose. They cannot edit, delete or re-schedule content, but they can leave notes on posts for your team.

This is probably the must underused and most powerful tool in Social Media. LinkedIn’s advanced search lets you really drill down to find the right targets. You can target by location, industry, schools, language, non-profit interests and much more.

Within advanced search, you are able to narrow down your targets by keyword. You can either do one term or various terms together to really get to your target. If you search by term, you will need to use OR, AND, or NOT in your Keyword Search, example:

CEO OR “Chief Executive Officer”

CEO OR “Chief Executive Officer” AND public relations AND PR firm

CEO OR “Chief Executive Officer” AND public relations AND PR firm NOT Restaurant

LinkedIn Sponsored Content

LinkedIn has ways for you to sponsor your content. If you take this paid option, you will be able to target LinkedIn users according to their industry, company size, job function, and job title. The sponsored content types can be whitepapers, case studies, Slideshare slide decks etc.

Sponsored content can be content that you create as a company update, you can boost this and make it into sponsored content.

There is also Direct Sponsored Content which does not live on your company page. This way you can create content that does not have to be a company update and still be sponsored on LinkedIn.

If you go this route, you can make it so that content is not seen by everyone, but only a target audience of your choosing and there are tons of options so you can A/B split test the content.  For example, you can test whether link or photo posts resonate better or if a combination of a post with a certain type of image gets you better results.
