Early this week, Twitter announced the introduction of group messaging and a new mobile video app. With group messaging you can read or watch Tweets and discuss them privately, continue a public conversation privately with a smaller group, or start one based on a Tweet you saw.

Twitter Rolls Out Group Direct Messages and Mobile Video Camera

Twitter claims the ability to converse privately with groups gives you more options for how and with whom you communicate on Twitter. You can create a group in just a few taps. When you’re added to a group, you’ll get a notification. The group function lets you initiate conversations with any of your followers and they don’t all need to follow one another in order to chat.

DIRECT GROUP MESSAGES ON TWITTER

Direct Messages support text, photos, links, emoji and Tweets. With Direct Messages on Twitter, you can communicate privately with a person or a group of people. You can spark conversations by sharing Tweets from your timeline, even if they’re from people who aren’t part of the Direct Message.

You can engage in a private conversation with anyone on Twitter, even a friend of a friend. Direct messages can only be seen between the people included. Add up to 20 people to a Direct Message at any time. They’ll get a notification that they’ve been included.

HOW TO DIRECT GROUP MESSAGE FROM YOUR SMARTPHONE ON TWITTER




  • 1. Click on “Messages”
  • 2. Click on “New Message”
  • 3. Enter the twitter handles of the people you want to include
  • 4. Click “Next”
  • 5. Type your 140 character message and Click “Send”

 

VIDEOS FROM TWITTER APP

Twitter says everyone will soon be able to seamlessly capture, edit and share videos right from the Twitter app. Twitter’s camera app is simple to use. In just a few taps you can add a video to blossoming conversations, and share your view of a live event, all within the app.

Viewing and playing videos is easy, since videos are previewed with a thumbnail and you can play them with just one tap. With Twitter’s mobile video camera and inline editing, you can capture and share videos up to 30 seconds. Twitter for iPhone users will be able to upload videos from the camera roll as well, This feature will also soon be available on their Android app.
